Brit, Peter Lindsay realised the potential of the Les Allues valley and founded Meribel in the 1940's. While the resort has grown considerably since then, the guidelines laid down by Lindsay and his architect Durupt have ensured that the buildings have maintained their traditional Savoyard style of wood, stone and slate used from the local area.
